JUNIOR CHURCH MINISTRY Grades 1-3
Vision Statement:
To teach the little children about Jesus’ love for them and of God’s gift of salvation.
Scope of Ministry:
Junior Church is intended to ease the children in grades 1-3 into starting to participate in the full Sunday morning service with their families. For the first Sunday of every month, Jr Church-aged children have Clipboard Sunday, where they are given clipboards with paper to make their own notes of the message given. For all other Sundays, children in grades 1-3 have Jr Church class. Children are dismissed after the worship time, and before the message. Jr Church classes follow the Gospel Project curriculum (https://www.gospelproject.com/kids/), using the Kids Worship Material. The worship material is designed to further reinforce what was learned during the Younger Kids Sunday School Bible study time before the service at 9:30am (see Sunday School page for more information).
Who’s Involved:
Parents and other trained volunteers from the congregation teach Jr Church classes on a rotating schedule throughout the year. All curriculum materials are prepared for by the Jr Church Coordinator for the volunteers. All volunteers are screened and trained by our Children’s Advocate, and given the final approval by the Board of Elders before being allowed to work with the children, following our Plan to Protect policy (https://www.plantoprotect.com/en/home/).
